Nicholas
Joy’s friend Hilda Williams has had a family Lebanese restaurant only four blocks North from the Stephens House since 1987 on 12th and SE Grand. They provide delicious meals made with the freshest and best quality ingredients. They insist on everything being made from scratch with no shortcuts. No canned garbanzos or canned eggplant for the baba. Only the freshest bread, baked from scratch. What you see coming out of the oven speaks for itself. Using high quality ingredients is very important to us. Not just for flavor - cooking right is part of their culture. They really love making good food! It is our number one pick for a sit down meal OR take back to the house!

Your grocery store is closer than you think! While most of Portland is laid out in a block style grid Ladd’s Addition is not! You can take a shortcut diagonally right to the best grocery store in town. This isn’t a mega International chain but a NW local chain that has fresh organic and local offerings. If you are from here you know this is the place to shop. Sitting at the convergence of several neighborhoods, the Seven Corners store opened in 2004, joining an eclectic hub of shops and restaurants. Filled with character and funky charm, this store keeps the old Portland vibe alive with friendly staff and locally sourced food. Grab a loaf of fresh bread from the Oregon Tilth Certified Organic bakery, or swing by Saturday mornings for freshly baked, house-made brioche cinnamon rolls.
